Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Supervisor to oversee safe, efficient, and productive plant operations while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards. This role manages production staff through lead hands, overseeing scheduling, work assignments, and overall employee performance. As a key member of the Joint Environment, Health, and Safety Committee, the Plant Supervisor leads toolbox meetings, addresses daily operational issues, and ensures continuous accessibility on the plant floor. The position works closely with the Operations Manager, Health & Safety and Compliance Coordinator, and the Maintenance team to drive operational excellence and maintain a safe, collaborative work environment.

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Scarborough, ON

Pay Rate: $25.50/hour

Hours: 3:30pm to 12:00am, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Close the plant at the end of the shift, including a final walk-through to ensure operations are secure and compliant.
  • Assign, deploy, and redeploy staff as needed to align with production requirements.
  • Submit new hire requests to the Operations Manager and support integration of new employees into the team.
  • Monitor and ensure production quality control throughout the shift.
  • Address and resolve day-to-day staff issues, maintaining proper documentation when necessary.
  • Prepare, track, and deliver staff performance and productivity reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Oversee training, coaching, and development to ensure staff are meeting expectations and company standards.
  • Complete all required shift reporting and operational documentation accurately and on time.
  • Verify that all machinery, tools, and equipment are properly maintained, safe, and in good working condition.
  • Lead by example to promote a positive, safe, and compliant work environment.
  • Cross-train to provide supervisory coverage across different operational areas as needed.
  • Complete compliance-related paperwork and support reporting requirements.

  • Supervisory Training & Experience
  • Forklift Training, 1st Aid Training, TDG Training. JEHSC Member experience and asset
  • Must have a clear criminal background history
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
