Job Description

Staff Plus is recruiting an Industrial Electrician for a well-established manufacturing company in Aylmer, ON. Permanent, full-time opportunities are available on both the day and afternoon shifts, offering $43.45/hour, comprehensive benefits, RRSP, profit sharing, and the opportunity to work with advanced automation, PLCs, robotics, and manufacturing equipment.

 

Location: Aylmer, ON

Pay Rate: $43.45 per hour + $0.95/hour afternoon shift premium

Shifts Available:

Day shift: 7am to 4:00pm (Monday to Thursday) & 7:00am to 3:30pm (Friday)

Afternoon shift: 4:00pm to 3:00am (Monday to Thursday)

What You'll Do:

As part of the maintenance team, you will troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and improve electrical systems and automated manufacturing equipment throughout the facility.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, test, commission, and service industrial electrical systems, controls, PLCs, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Install, wire, commission, and troubleshoot new and existing production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and program PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and motion control systems.
  • Work with PLC platforms including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Beckhoff.
  • Support automated production lines, industrial controls, and FANUC robotic systems.
  • Troubleshoot machine communication networks including Ethernet, IO-Link, and Profibus.
  • Support machine safety systems, safety PLCs, and automated control applications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and identify recurring equipment issues.
  • Investigate equipment downtime, determine root causes, and implement improvements to increase reliability and uptime.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, machine schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Use AutoCAD to support equipment modifications, troubleshooting, and new installations.
  • Provide mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting support as required.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, continuous improvement projects, and commissioning activities.
  • Work closely with Production and Maintenance team members to improve safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance.
  • Assist with developing and updating preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Provide guidance or training to apprentices, helpers, and contractors as required.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment and follow company safety procedures, government regulations, and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Certified Electrician.
  • 3–5 years of related industrial electrical experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC controls and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and install, troubleshoot, and commission new and existing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation is an asset.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, conveyors, gearboxes, motor alignment, chain and belt drives, or overhead cranes is an asset.
  • AutoCAD experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF procedures is an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and support continuous improvement initiatives.
