Job Description

Staff Plus is hiring a Maintenance Lead in Oakville, ON for a full-time opportunity supporting preventative maintenance, facility upkeep, maintenance tracking, and safe day-to-day operations in a busy manufacturing/production environment. This is a great role for someone with hands-on maintenance experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to help keep equipment, facilities, and maintenance activities running safely and efficiently.

 

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent
Location: Oakville, ON
Pay Rate: Starting at $25.50/hour
Hours: Day Shift, 6:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.; flexibility for other shifts may be required

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on schedule and report any delays, downtime, or concerns to management.
  • Respond promptly to machine, building, or facility maintenance issues that may create a safety, compliance, or operational concern.
  • Maintain accurate records in the computerized job tracking system for all maintenance work performed.
  • Use maintenance data to help analyze department costs and make recommendations to management as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance items in the computerized system.
  • Oversee maintenance work activities to ensure tasks are completed safely and meet quality standards.
  • Support safe operating practices and ensure work is completed in accordance with company policies and applicable health and safety requirements.
  • Act as a resource for facility maintenance personnel and support team availability as needed.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

 

  • A minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance, general maintenance and automotive production and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ensure that the OSHA and internal safe operating principles are in place and adhered to.
  • Comply with provisions of the OSHA Regulations and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of all employees.
  • Comply with Environmental Programs, including Hazardous Waste and Air Emissions Compliance, as well as the Environmental Management Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication and proven organizational skills.
  • Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and work full-time hours as required by this position.
