Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of forklifts, including propane and electric Counter-Balance, High Reach, and Walkie/Walkie Stacker; to facilitate the movement of materials and products within our distribution center. This role requires a strong and versatile Forklift Operator to also take a lead position within the warehouse.

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent 

Location: Pickering, ON

Pay Rate: Starting at $25.00/hour

Hours: Day Shift - 6:15am to 2:45pm or Afternoon Shift - 2:30pm to 11:00

 

Duties

  • Operate forklifts to move, locate, and stack materials in designated areas.
  • Utilize order pickers for accurate picking and packing of orders.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using a warehouse management system.
  • Perform basic math calculations for inventory tracking and order fulfillment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading shipments while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in warehouse distribution.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, or an ambitions to become a leader.
  • Must hold a valid Forklift license to operate Counter-Balance, Reach, and Walkie
  • Proficient in operating forklifts.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Basic math skills for inventory management and order processing.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the role.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position.
