Machine Operator BPS (Brake Press and Shears)

Job Description

Are you ready to take your machine operation skills to the next level? We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Machine Operator BPS (break press and shears) to join our high-performing manufacturing team!

In this role, you’ll be the key player behind the precision and quality of our elevator fixture panels. Using your technical expertise and eye for detail, you will set up and operate state-of-the-art CNC Engraving, Routing, and Laser machines to produce top-tier components that meet exacting standards

Job Type: Temporary, ongoing 

Location: Mississauga, ON 

Pay Rate: $22.80 Hour

Hours: Day SHIFT Monday – Thursday 7:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

 What You'll Do:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
  • Need to have break press experience
  • Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce outputs according to specifications
  • Inspect and measure finished products and parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g. Micrometers, Vernier calipers) while infilling and cleaning engraving in a timely manner
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
  • Analyze job order and performs necessary calculations
  • Makes improvements to set up times for tasks and simplify tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the client provide feedback to project managers on design, modifications 
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements

  • College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent CNC professional experience 
  • At least 2 years of Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings an asset
  • Excellent written communication, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to lift loads up to 50lbs
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
