Production Supervisor (Rotational shifts)

Staff Plus is currently hiring for an exciting opportunity with our client in healthcare laundry and linen services to hospitals, sub-acute and medical facilities across Canada and Western United States.

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Hamilton, ON

Pay Rate: $27.64/HOUR

Hours: Rotating shifts (Days & Aft) on weekdays – Day shift on weekends

Day shift starts at 6:30am - afternoon shift starts at 2:30pm

 

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor employee attendance and assign employees to workstations based on production needs
  • Follow up with employees who are not meeting production requirements on a regular basis to ensure they are aware of their requirements
  • Conduct training of staff as required due to production concerns, changes to work processes, health, and safety
  • Reward, recognize and discipline employees as appropriate
  • Integrate health & safety into all aspects of production in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, industrial safety regulations, and all other relevant safety legislation.
  • Participate in the implementation and revision of standards, systems, plant policies and other departmental programs
  • Follow up on downtime reports for equipment with maintenance to ensure that any recurring issues are resolved
  • Participates in the planning of all changes regarding methods and work flow in the department

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year’s experience as a production supervision or team leader in a manufacturing unionized environment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot effectively
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act, Workplace Safety Insurance Board, Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in working with teams
  • Flexible schedules as we are an essential service
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
